i got passed the esser link by a young friend on facebook and i just wanted to write and say thanks and thanks again - you made this old man (pushing 50) feel very young again .. i dont know if your stuff attracts much of a mature audience ? but god i wish we had pop music like this when i was little. all the lyrics and the images are so clever, i bought some of your stuff off i tunes i played it over and over yesterday, and i got out of bed early this morning to play them !!! i think you deserve every success that is coming to u

Somehow I'd managed to blag a support slot at one of his gigs, the place was quite strange, an old city, lots of narrow streets with hippy shops and that. I found the venue and went inside and he was sat alone at a table by the window. I got a drink and sat down with him and talked about the lighting rig. Then some nutter in the corner started a fight, so we bundled in as best we could, then left before the police turned up. I went off to have a look round the city, and in this modern shopping centre bit near a park I saw The Girl I Fancied At School. I told her about the gig and she said she'd come, but I'd forgotten the name of the venue, so I grabbed her hand and we wandered round til we found it. Then I saw my dad walking down the street, so me and my dad and The Girl I Fancied At School went inside, and Ben was there, sat in the same place by the window. He lookled up and saw the three of us and smiled. That's when I woke up. Best dream I've had in ages.

[center]Saw Esser for the first time at the Koko on the 18th at a Black Kids gig. Got dragged along by a mate and im so glad i went! Esser music is prob the best i have heard in ages! ive just pre ordered the album and got the downloads from itunes! cant wait till i cn see thm again!! way better thn black kids wish they'd stayed on for longer!!

lol,I think he's the greatest act to emerge in music in aaaaaaaages. Always best to see an original,as opposed to all the clones and copycats out there.Such a relief.Hurrah for Esser!
Can't wait to see a live show sometime,should be amazing.

With sub-pub-rock bands like Twisted Wheel and Pint Shot Riot getting successful, I was worried that the whole world had gone mad. Thankfully though, we've got Mystery Jets, Jamie T and now Esser fighting the corner for interesting, inventive british music. Only heard of him the other day and I'm proper obsessed now.
